Protest Update


Thank you to the Protect Poets team and local residents who joined BFARe at the Peaceful Protest on Saturday 26th March to raise awareness of the destruction to homes and the environment the prosed EWR route will have through Bedford Borough.


The aim of the protest was to highlight that the route will not just have an impact on the lives of those along the route, through loss of homes and increase in noise but to the Borough as a whole with an increase in pollution from diesel rolling stock (including an unknown number of freight trains) noise and air pollution from construction and road traffic gridlock as large sections of the town will be closed to allow for additional rail lines and relocation of the Mainline AND St John's station's
